Key takeaways

  • Kandege = Aviator. Same game, local name, inspired by the small red plane.
  • You bet before take-off, then cash out any time before the plane flies away. If you're too late, the stake is lost.
  • The RTP is 97%: on average you get back 97c for every $1 you stake, over the long run.
  • A round reaches 2x only about 48.5% of the time, and about 3% of rounds end instantly at 1.00x.
  • Predictor apps, WhatsApp "signals" and hacks are scams. Nobody can know the next crash point.

What is Aviator (Kandege)?

Aviator is an online crash game released by the studio Spribe in 2019. A small red plane takes off and a multiplier starts climbing from 1.00x: 1.20x, 1.50x, 2.00x, 3.47x and on. At a random moment the plane flies away and the round ends.

Your job is simple: place a bet before take-off, then press Cash Out before the plane leaves. If you cash out at 2.40x on a $1 bet, you get $2.40 back. If the plane flies away first, the $1 is gone.

A whole round takes 10–40 seconds and dozens of players bet on the same flight, so Aviator feels fast and social. That's why it spread so quickly across Zimbabwe, from Harare and Chitungwiza to Bulawayo, Gweru and Mutare.

Crash game multiplier curve: cash out at ×1.80 wins, the round crashes at ×3.20×1×1.5×2×30s5s10sCash out ×1.80 ✓Crash ×3.20 ✕
A typical round: cashing out at 1.80x locks in a win, and the plane flies away at 3.20x, so anyone still in the round loses.

Why is Aviator called "Kandege" in Zimbabwe?

In Shona, ndege means aeroplane, and the ka- in front makes it small: a "little plane". Players named the game after the tiny red plane on the screen, and the name stuck. Today "Kandege" (sometimes misspelt Kandenge) is what you'll hear at the bus stop, in the kombi and in WhatsApp groups when people talk about Aviator.

Same game, same odds. Whether you call it Aviator, Kandege or "the plane game", it's Spribe's Aviator with a 97% RTP. There is no special "Zimbabwe version" with better odds, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

How to play Aviator, step by step

  1. Open Aviator at your betting site

Log in and find Aviator in the Casino, "Crash" or "Instant games" section. No account yet? Join Bwinners in about 2 minutes, then fund your wallet with EcoCash, InnBucks or OneMoney.

  2. Set your stake

Use the – / + buttons or the quick amounts (1, 2, 5, 10) on a bet panel. A good rule: one bet should be no more than 1–2% of your session budget.

  3. Switch on auto cash-out

Open the Auto tab and set a target such as 2.00x. The game collects for you the instant it is reached, which is a lifesaver on slow Econet, NetOne or Telecel data.

  4. Press BET during the countdown

Bets are only accepted in the few seconds between rounds. A bet placed while a plane is flying is queued for the next round.

  5. Cash out before the plane flies away

When the plane takes off, your bet button turns into a Cash Out button showing your live winnings. Tap it to collect, or let auto cash-out do it.

  6. Repeat with a limit

Decide in advance how many rounds you'll play or how much you're willing to lose, and stop when you reach it, whether you're up or down.

The Aviator screen explained

Most crash games share the same layout. Here's a labelled diagram of a typical Aviator screen. Your casino's version may look slightly different, but every control below will be there.

  1. Round history: recent crash points. Interesting to look at, useless for prediction: every round is independent.
  2. Live multiplier: what a cash-out pays right now.
  3. The plane: when it flies away or crashes, every open bet loses.
  4. Stake: use –/+ or the quick buttons to set your bet before the round.
  5. Cash Out button: during the round it shows your live winnings; tap to collect.
  6. Auto cash-out: collects automatically at your target (e.g. 2.00x), even if your network lags.
  7. Second bet panel: run two bets in the same round with different targets.

Aviator features you should know

Two bets at once

Aviator has two independent bet panels. Many players use one for a safe early cash-out (say 1.5x) and the other for a bigger target (say 5x). This doesn't change the overall odds, but it smooths out your results. See the two-bet strategy.

Auto bet and auto cash-out

Auto bet repeats your bet every round, and auto cash-out collects at a fixed multiplier. Use auto cash-out every time you play on mobile data or when ZESA might cut the power. A lagging connection can turn a winning cash-out into a loss.

Careful with auto bet. It keeps betting until you stop it or a limit is hit. Always set the "stop if cash decreases by" limit, or don't use it at all.

Live bets and statistics

The side panel shows everyone's bets and cash-outs in real time, plus your own history and the biggest wins. It's fun to watch, but it tells you nothing about the next round.

Rain and in-game chat

The chat lets players talk during rounds, and "Rain" drops occasional free bets to active chatters. Treat the chat with caution: it's a common place for scammers to advertise "predictor" and WhatsApp signal groups.

Provably fair

Each crash point comes from a server seed combined with seeds from the first three players to bet. A hash of the server seed is published before the round. Tap the green shield icon next to any past round to check it yourself. Our "Is Aviator rigged?" guide explains the details.

Aviator odds: how often each multiplier hits

With an RTP of 97%, the chance that a Aviator round reaches a multiplier x is roughly 97% ÷ x. That simple formula explains almost everything about the game.

2.00x
Win chance48.5%
Happens about1 in 2.1
$1 bet pays$2.00
Avg. return$0.97

Out of 100 rounds, about 49 reach 2.00x. The rest crash first. Notice the average return never changes: that's the house edge at work.

Cash-out targetChance to winRoughlyPayout on $1Average return per $1
1.5x64.7%1 in 1.5$1.50$0.97
2x48.5%1 in 2.1$2.00$0.97
3x32.3%1 in 3.1$3.00$0.97
5x19.4%1 in 5$5.00$0.97

50x1.94%1 in 52$50.00$0.97
100x0.97%1 in 103$100.00$0.97

Look at the last column: every target returns the same ~$0.97 per $1 staked on average. Low targets win often but pay little; high targets pay big but rarely. No target escapes the 3.0% house edge. Why this is true →

Why 1.00x crashes happen. About 3% of Aviator rounds end immediately at 1.00x, before anyone can cash out. That small slice of instant crashes is exactly where the 3% house edge comes from.

Kandege tips that actually help

Nothing on this list will make you a guaranteed winner, because nothing can. These habits protect your money and make your sessions last longer:

  1. Set a session budget before you open the game, and only use money you won't miss: never rent, school fees or kombi money. Read money management.
  2. Use auto cash-out on mobile. A one-second network lag at 1.9x can cost you the whole stake.
  3. Keep stakes flat. Doubling after losses (Martingale) quickly runs into table limits and empties wallets.
  4. Ignore the history bar. A run of low multipliers does not mean a big one is "due".
  5. Withdraw wins regularly to EcoCash rather than leaving them in your betting wallet.
  6. Never pay for signals, bots or predictor apps. They are scams.

Practise Aviator-style rounds free

This simulator uses the same probability maths as Aviator (97% RTP) with demo credits. Try a few rounds with no auto cash-out, then with auto cash-out at 2x, and notice how often the round crashes before 1.5x.

Playing Aviator in Zimbabwe: checklist

Aviator is offered by most online betting sites that serve Zimbabwe. Before you sign up anywhere, check four things:

  • Licensing. Gambling in Zimbabwe is regulated by the Lotteries and Gaming Board. Only play where the operator shows a valid licence.
  • Mobile money. Look for EcoCash, InnBucks or OneMoney deposits and withdrawals, with clear limits and processing times.
  • Wallet currency. Check whether your account runs in USD or ZiG, because it affects minimum bets and how wins are paid.
  • Phone-friendly. The site should run smoothly in Chrome on a budget Android phone. See our Aviator app guide.

Our partner Bwinners takes EcoCash and other mobile money and runs well on phones. It also runs Aviator Rain: free $1 bets dropped inside Aviator every evening. As with any site, check its licence details before you deposit. Create your Bwinners account → or see the welcome bonus.

You must be 18 or older to gamble. If gambling ever stops being fun, see our responsible gambling page for tools and support.

Aviator FAQ

What is Kandege?

Kandege is the nickname many Zimbabweans use for Aviator, the crash game with the small red plane (some people type it as Kandenge). The game is exactly the same: bet before take-off and cash out before the plane flies away.

Is Aviator (Kandege) rigged?

Aviator from Spribe is a licensed, independently tested game that uses a provably fair system. The crash point is fixed by a cryptographic hash before bets close, and you can check any round yourself in the game's fairness settings. Just as important: play at a licensed betting site that pays out reliably.

How do I start playing Aviator in Zimbabwe?

Open an account at a betting site that offers Aviator, deposit with EcoCash, InnBucks or OneMoney, then find Aviator under Casino or Crash games. Create an account with Bwinners in about 2 minutes, or read our step-by-step guide first.

What is the best time to play Aviator?

There isn't one. Every round is generated independently, so the odds are the same at 6am, at midnight, on a Friday or straight after a big multiplier. Claims about "hot times" are myths, often spread by people selling signals.

What is the minimum bet on Aviator in Zimbabwe?

It depends on the betting site and your wallet currency. Many sites start from around $0.10 (or the ZiG equivalent). The minimum and maximum are shown on the stake control and in the game rules.

Can I play Aviator for free?

Yes. Many betting sites offer a demo mode, and you can use the free Kandege demo on this site, which uses the same 97% RTP maths.

What strategy wins at Aviator?

No strategy beats the 3% house edge in the long run. Strategies such as cashing out low, using two bets or Martingale only change how you win and lose, not whether the house keeps its edge. We test them all in our Aviator strategy guide.
